Emphasis is on the practical needs of students for independent living. Basic living skills are taught which include money management and planned spending, personal budget and buying, consumer awareness, the decision-making process, clothing care, housekeeping skills, selection of housing, and basic nutrition and food preparation. Student-teacher planning permits adaptation of course content to meet individual student's needs. (12/95)
