Course Description:  Sixth grade Physical Education involves participation in introductory level units of study. Each quarter will be divided into three-week units (minimum). The major areas of emphasis will include Fitness/Conditioning I, Fitness Measurement I, Gymnastics I, Softball I, and Volleyball I. The following introductory units may be included as time allows: dance, flag football, floor hockey, soccer, team handball, tennis, track and field, weight training and wrestling. Additional lifetime activities may be presented and taught with prior approval from the Department of Instructional Services. RECOMMENDED: Grade 6; two quarters each of Physical Education 61 and Physical Education 62.
